Korean cadastral system was established for the purpose of contributing to the efficient land management and protection of national property rights. It was, however, intended to exploit lands and levy taxes by colonial Japanese government through the land and forestry survey project conducted between 1910 and 1924 and the method of cadastral surveying were graphical ways of reducing relevant scale of land.
The cadastral maps has been used almost 100 years causing many problems due to poor management of cadastral maps and control points, different coordinate systems, scales, and etc. In this reason, an accurate cadastral surveying service cannot be provided with enhanced land use environment.
In this context, Korean government has completed the digitalizing project of cadastral maps not only to make prompt decision but also to solve the fundamental problems and effective land management as well. In addition, the surveying method also has been changed from plane survey as an analogue way to computerized survey as a digital one. First of all, this study is to find way how the field data can be kept, managed and operated in the optimal method in the perspective of Information Communication Technology(ICT). Secondly, the cadastral data archives is proposed to have access and data sharing among cadastral surveyors. Lastly, by doing this it can be expected to provide accurate and reliable cadastral information to the citizens.
