A study on characteristic analysis of large journal bearings for power plants was executed. To do this, about φ500 journal bearing was chosen as a target. The performance of Maximum pressure, bearing force, power loss, stiffness and damping coefficients according to eccentricity ratio were analyzed by simulation.
In this thesis, we showed that the values of maximum pressure, stiffness and damping coefficients above about 0.6 in eccentricity ratio were increased sharply.
