Residential complex has been created in mountains and hill-side areas in rural areas in accordance with increasing people who want to live in outer city. The systematic studies on this subject, however, are required for hill-side housing development because diverse problems occur due to the creation of complex, disconnected from the adjacent areas, frequent collapse problem according to climate change and destruction of landscape.
Firstly, for this study, diverse law and ordinance analysis was conducted and the possibility and feasibility of development projects to reduce trial and error before development in mountains and hilly areas.
Secondly, intensive studies of success cases such as the case of German town were conducted to examine the problems, which can occur in the field of actual construction.
Thirdly, development direction was analyzed through questionnaire surveys of experts based on such analysis.
The suggestions on the development of the rural housing complex in mountain and hilly areas are as follows: Development should be made in residential sites where all live together with 20~50 households of 30,000㎡~60,000㎡ size, with a slope of less than 20°. The direction of open space should be within the range of development, which does not change the ecology of nature. Road should be planned under 17.5% according to a contour line. Pedestrian road should be established in a woodland path of nature in a direction of right angle.
In addition, the intention of forming skyline with the landmark of high-rise buildings is liable to ruin the landscape of mountain. Therefore, such houses should be constructed by using slope. Also, such kind of development should be congruous with surrounding areas, because restoration is difficult, once the landscape is ruined.
