This study is aimed at proving the mediated effect of anger expression style in the process of a child's abuse experience influencing the peer relationship problems. The study was conducted on 974 students (483 males, 491 females) in 4th~6th grades in 3 elementary schools in U city and gained the following result by correlation analysis and structure equation analysis.
First, the abuse experience had significantly influenced on each three types of problem in peer group; indifference, obedience and interference. Second, the abuse experience had significantly influenced on each anger-in and anger out of anger expression style. Third, a child's anger expression style partially mediated between the abuse experience and the types of the peer relationship problems. It means that the abuse experience increases indifference and obedience level by increasing the anger-in and increases the anger-out that leads to increases of interference in peer group. In other words, the anger-in which is one of anger expression style has influence on indifference and obedience in peer groups while the anger-out has influence on interference. It means that the abuse experience has influenced on not only the peer relationship problems but on each peer relationship problem type depending on the anger expression style. This study provides information necessary to understand the relationship between a child's abuse experience and the peer relationship problems and indicates that it could prevent the relationship problems in peer which is the secondary damage when treating children abused by their parents. Lastly, the study discussed the significances, limitations and suggestions for post studies.
