The purpose of this manuscript is to present the basic data for the improvement of athletic performance of the athletes and to develop the sports army of the armed forces so that they can meet the purpose of the formation of the armed forces army. The Armed Forces Athletic Unit provides national competitors the opportunity to perform military service and ensures the conditions for continuous exercise, thereby preventing the athletes from degrading their competitiveness. It also played an important role in Korea becoming a top 10 sports powerhouse in the world. Currently, the military athletic department is a way to overcome the special circumstances of the Republic of Korea, which is obliged to fulfill military service duty and important issue of our society at the peak of competitions. In order to enhance the morale of the nation and to strengthen the status of integration and international diplomacy by promoting growth as a sports powerhouse, we conducted research on the service and training satisfaction and training status of active players of the armed forces.
The study was carried out through questionnaires of 328 athletes who were determined to voluntarily participate and study faithfully among the total number of active athletes serving in the armed forces sports club as of July 2015. A questionnaire consisting of 10 items was prepared to ask about contents of 'satisfaction of service' (6 items), 'satisfaction of training' (2 items), and 'training situation' (2 items). In order to investigate 'satisfaction of service', questions about service satisfaction, enlistment competitiveness, barracks life, reward, welfare facilities, and food and shelf payment were set. For the 'satisfaction of the training', the question was asked about the training facility and the training method. As for the contents of 'training status', participants asked about the number of times of participation and the time of training. After the questionnaire survey, data were processed using SPSS 18.0 program and statistical techniques were analyzed for all variables. Cronbach's reliability analysis was performed on the items with the 5-point Likert scale except general characteristics. The training situation was processed through cross - analysis (verification).
Through the above process, the results of 'Satisfaction of Service,' 'Satisfaction of Training' and 'Training Status' were obtained. The results of the study on 'satisfaction of service' are as follows. There was a significant difference in the items about the satisfaction of the excellent player, satisfaction of the barracks life, satisfaction of the welfare facilities, satisfaction of the food and shelter, satisfaction of the service. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in the adequacy of the enlistment competition in the matters related to satisfaction of service. The results of the study on 'satisfaction of training' showed no significant difference in the satisfaction of the training facility, but it was found that there was a significant difference in satisfaction with the training method. Finally, the results of the study on the 'training status' showed that the number of participating in the annual competition was the highest in 4 ~ 5 times, the least in 8 times, the training time in 1 day was the most in 6 hours, and 7 hours was the least.
In addition, the results can be analyzed by paying attention to the characteristics of the subjects, such as age, education level, sports history, and athlete's career. According to the age group, the subjects who were between 24 and 27 years old had higher satisfaction level and satisfaction level of training.
Based on academic background, the subjects of college graduation, and based on the item, the subjects of the individual and survey subject of record item, and based on the athlete's career, the subjects surveyed for 10 to 15 years, they tended to be higher in 'satisfaction of service' and 'satisfaction of training'. As a result of considering the demographic characteristics, 'satisfaction level of service' and 'satisfaction of training', it fulfilled the requirements of ages from 24 to 27 years of age, education level of college graduates, individual and record players, and 10 to 15 years of athletic career It is possible to deduce that the satisfaction level of 'service satisfaction' and 'satisfaction of training' will be higher in the active players of the armed forces.
