(Regional Selective Assistance, Selective Finance for Investment in England)을 고찰하였다. Traditionally, the regional policy of the UK national government has sought to achieve the unemployment reduction/job creation in disadvantaged areas as an important goal. This paper discusses the Assisted Areas as which the national government has designated not a few disadvantaged areas since 2000 in order to advance development of such areas. And it examines Regional Selective Assistance/Selective Finance for Investment in England through which the national government subsidizes the investment by individual businesses in the Assisted Areas, contingent upon the quantity/quality of jobs created or safeguarded by such businesses? investment. Finally, we briefly deal with the implications of the traditional and consistent linkage between regional policy and job creation in UK for the Korean context.
