Christian Utopia and korean rhythm in ParkDoo-jin's Sun.
The purpose of this paper is to study Christian Utopia and korean rhythm in Park Doo-jin's Sun on the basis of Bible and archetype. Park's literary sensibilities and his religious sentiment become his poetic themes until he died. Only Christ's rebirth is the medium of salvation and hope since he lived in poverty under colonial times.
Nature is another poetic theme in Park's poems. When he was a child, he lived in a country consisting of mountain, field and river. So these nature materials became the important themes with Christianity, God in his poems. Nature is in harmony with Christianity and enhance his poetic sprit.
The poetic image in his early poems Sun is Sun and green mountain. On the basis of Bible and archetype, Sun represents God, green mountain means utopia without strong man and weak man. Also Korean rhythm, aaba and aa' style help his poetic sprit be stronger and clearer
“poetry purifies human's sprit and makes him happy. Also the poet should thank God with poetry”, Park confessed. I think that this comment is a tool to tell his poetic world and poetic sprit. Park was not able to be free from poetry and God for his whole life because he loved God and poetry very much. If the topic ‘Happiness of writing poetry and glory to God’ exists, the study of Park Doo-jin, poetry and God will be continued. To the last, I hope that this paper will be a flame to help the study of Park and his poetic world diversely.
