This study is a philosophical research on art museum's educational function based on the art theory of John Dewey and Nelson Goodman. Art works as the heart of art museum are the visual fruit of life had been lived in any time and space. The term of visual culture means visual form of life. Works of art are the finely cultivated one of the various forms of life and the best cultural indexes. Following such meaning that art works are the core of visual culture encompassing our life, art works are the best educational means of cultivating our perception, and thus when art works work in the our experiences, real works of art, forms of perception, are born in our experiences. therefore art itself as the growth and cultivated form of the ordinary experiences has inherently educational meaning. the meaning of art works comes from art itself and the experience of viewer together.
Futhermore an experience of art museum begins with encounter of the qualitative phase and the individuality and creativity comes from the satisfaction of the experience. Here it is necessary to acquire visual literacy in the process of such experience. The authentic mission of museum is a role that helps “works work” in the viewer's experiences. At that time, it is important for museum educator to concentrate on the complexity of the experience and sensibility not just perception. One strategy of museum educator is that use the questions of ordinary experiences related on the works in order to make students enforce emotional reaction.
