This study was conducted to investigate the effects on the production of single bulb cultivating
small size bulbils of Namdo garlic cultivar using several kinds of nursery box. The kinds of nursery
box were 105, 200, 288, 400-cell plug and rice nursery box. Plant height and number of leaves of
garlic in field were a similar to different cell-plugs, and its vinyl tunnel cultivated during overwintering
period was better than field cultivated. The more number of cell-plug, the rate of single bulb was higher,
also vinyl tunnel cultivate was high compared with field cultivate. Number of single bulbs over 2 g was
significantly different cell-plugs and cultivation method. The percentage of single bulb sowed at 210 ea
and 105 ea per box were 91.4% and 62.6% at rice nursery. Yield of single bulb over 2 g and 3 g were 600
ea/m2 and 276 ea/m2 sowed at 210 ea/per box. Effect of labor saving on the harvesting work were 75.8%
at the 105-cell plug and 79.5% at the rice nursery box compared to 146 hr/10a at traditional cultivation.
