The purpose of this research was to analyze the living environment of single Korean male farmers from the ecological perspective and the theory of quality of life. Using a questionnaire methodology, this research examined overall life environment and related variables to their rural life satisfaction of 170 single male farmers. Results of the research were as follows: 1) They showed an economic polarity in terms of earnings and scale of land and they had very negative perspectives for their future life as a farmer; 2) They perceived themselves to be very heathy and showed low scores of stress and depression, but low possibilities of date and marriage were the major stress for them; 3) Scores of solidarity with the family of origin and support from their parents were relatively low, even though the family of origin was the major social network for helping household choirs as well as farming, while friends were their major emotional support network; 4) Living urban area before 20 years of age, depression, the number of membership of community organization, having plan for marriage were the statistically significant variables for their rural life satisfaction. Implications and future research directions were added.
