North Korean magazines have had great interest about social issues of South Korea. These magazines had shown the greatest interest about the issue of poverty in South Korea. The issue of poverty is closely related to the other social issues. Therefore, it is natural that the magazines of North Korea raised the issue of poverty in South Korea.
However, since the 1980s, North Korea's magazines have interested in the various other social issues. North Korea's magazines have made propaganda well enough against social issues of South Korea. Topic selections and contents of reports were related to the attacks South Korea.
While North Korea's magazines have exaggerated individual cases and propagandized these, they had a factual basis to some extent. Through the magazines, the North Korean regime took advantage of the social issues of South Korea politically. Writings published in magazines have had significant impacts on the perceptions of North Koreans about South Korea. But it is not appropriate that the contents of North Korea's magazines are the same to the perception of the North Korean regime toward South Korea.
