The purpose of this study is to identify how Silver Town living affects residents' leisure activity. Two hundred and thirty-eight questionnaires, with a 90.2% response rate from a judgmental sample of 264 Silver Town residents in Seoul & Kyonggi Province, were utilized to study the relationship between research constructs. SPSS 11.0 version was employed to validate the proposed hypotheses by using paired sample t-test and multiple regressional analyses.
The results of data analysis showed statistically significant differences in social, housework, outdoor, cultural, recreation, hobby among leisure activity. On constriction of leisure activity, among residents' demographics, living with spouse, education, and number of grandchildren showed negative effect, and living duration and size of unit showed positive effect. On expansion of leisure activity professional, living costs, and number of grandchildren showed negative effect, and only living with spouse showed positive effect. Lastly, on the total change professional and number of grandchildren among demographics showed negative effect, and size of unit and satisfaction showed positive effect. And implications of these results were examined.
