This article is an attempt to compare historical acceptance and original type of the Theory of Social Evolution of Korea·China·Japan in modern century. Social Darwinism, a term that explains long-term changes of society in the view of evolution or advance, is a representative theory of social evolutionism, as a initial social Darwinism, in which Individual social evolutionism of Spencer and Biological Evolution of Darwin are applied to the society. Three countries accepted from Japan in 1870s with easy and spontaneously, despite their lack of traditionally old christian theology, Original type of social Darwinism of three countries was greatly influenced by Darwin and Spencer and the concern of thinkers was not Biological Evolution, but social Darwinism from the beginning. In case of Japan, a front-runner, Katohiroyuki(加藤弘之), a pioneer of German study, and other Meizi intellectuals was under the influence of social Darwinism irrespective of their political, social and religious stand. In case of China, a book of Spencer was already translated in 1880s. Full scale of propagation was on 1890s following defeat at China-Japan war and was centered by Yenfu(嚴復), a British studied educator and journalist and a next-runner Liangizao(梁啓超), an activist who assimilated a broad western ideology through 14 years-exile in Japan. In case of Korea, Yu Kil-Jun, a Japan and America studied, is the first in 1880s and full scale of propagation was centered by Eun-Sik Park, Ji-Yeon Jang, and Che-Ho Shin, front-runners of 'Self Strength'‧'Independence' ideology in later of 1890s, which was a defensive ideological movement during a fall into Japanese colony They accepted interpretation of natural selection by ‘struggle for existence' and ‘survival of the fittest evolution of Darwin and social evolution by human intellectual, moral, and physical education of Spencer.
