To investigate the relationship between existential spiritual well-being and internet use and to verify the mediating effects of self-esteem and depression, we analysed the data of 3666 adolescents who enrolled in 34 junior high and high schools in Daegu. The major results of this study are as follows. 1) The results of examining the effects of existential well-being on internet addiction represented that the higher existential spiritual well-being adolescents feel, the lower level of internet addiction they show. 2) Depression mediates the effects of existential spiritual well-being on internet addiction and it means that existential spiritual well-being has not only direct effects on internet addiction but also indirect effects through depression. 3) Existential spiritual well-being statistically significantly affects self-esteem but self-esteem doesn't statistically significantly affects internet addiction. 4) Self-esteem affects depression but self-esteem and depression don't sequently mediate the relationship between existential and internet addiction. Finally, the implication, limitation of the study were discussed and suggestions for future researches were presented.
