Objectives: The study aims to provide basic material for health educator training and standard for health educator related curriculum in the university by developing curriculum standard, specialized health education courses and ultimately help national qualification system to be stabilized as early as possible. Results and conclusion: Substance of this study is divided into 4 sections : 1) Current status of Korean health education courses 2) Analysis of health education curriculum 3) Development of course objective, major content and curriculum standard based on analysis 4) Development of effective and feasible standard guideline. Also, the study included 9 compulsory courses among health education courses which are stipulated in the article 7 of National Health Promotion Law. The study is the result of reading and review of domestic and international books, continuous TFT meeting and inspection. Each curriculum standard was developed through analysis of current health education curriculum and review and evaluation of professional TFT. This study expects to prepare detailed curriculum standard for evaluation of similar courses which are run by Korea Health Educator Qualification Management Office, guarantee fair and coherent evaluation procedure by promoting quality standardization of health educators and establish specified health educator related curriculum standard and ultimately provide universities and department with desirable guideline when they want to create curriculum for health educator qualification system.
