In the history of educational ideology, Rousseau's education is to be completed through negative approach while Kant's education is regard as positive education. In addition, they used to understand that the limit of Rousseau’s education is overcome by Kant’s positive education. Nevertheless, these educational theories share the umbrella concept of natural education which is realized on the raw of Nature. Thus, the first question of this study relies on the hypothesis which ‘negative education’ of Rousseau and ‘positive education’ of Kant may not the contradictory or conflicting concepts. The second question of this study is: where is the conceptual boundary between Rousseau’s and Kant’s education? To answer these questions we introduce the comparative hermeneutic as research method. This study reviewed Rousseau’s 『Emile』as an educational essay and Kant’s 『On Education』in order to get the logical evidences in two dimensions of educational aim and educational method. As a result this paper pointed out two issues ‘not positive’: firstly, we cannot draw a conclusion the limit of Rousseau’s education is conquered by Kant’s. Secondly, it is not true that we can decide in dichotomy the marginal line between Rousseau’s and Kant’s education. It is because that Rousseau’s and Kant’s education belongs to the same category in concept of natural education which is completed on the raw of nature.
