This study aims to suggest the optimum batting skill model and to offer the baseline data of training program development for coaching the batting position by analyzing the professional baseball players’ batting position scientifically. The results of this study are as follows.
The average of stride length is 51.73% compared to height. At Pre Impact Phase(P1), before and after displacement of center of mass is 0.14 m, vertical displacement is 0.02 m and at Post Impact Phase(P2) before and after displacement is 0.02 m, vertical displacement is 0.04 m. It means there is no movement between before and after displacement and vertical displacement during the motion. The distance between center of mass and end of bat make a large difference in batting ready position. At the Ball Impact(BI) they are far apart, since then they get close to each other at Follow Through(FT). The average velocity of bat at BI is 22.48 m/s (80.93 km/h), and maximum speed which appears about 0.02 s just before the impact is 23.47 m/s(84.49 km/h). Before and after displacement of center of mass increases of about 20% after Foot Contact(FC), but later it tends to be controled. The vertical velocity continues to increase till BI then, it decreases. Keep the trunk rotation angle faced to pitcher at FC, and impact the ball with body opened in BI so control the rotation of trunk till FT. Support the Trail’s knee joint angle and extend the Lead’s knee joint. Extend the Trail’s elbow joint just before the impact, and extend the Trail’s shoulder joint with keep up the Lead’s shoulder joint. After FC, rotate the trunk quickly with hip rotation.
