Customers may have more willingness to pay for the preferred schedule on their travels. Analyzing the relationship between preferences and willingness to pay on their travel schedule, airlines should design a customer-oriented schedule and fare mix to motivate the use of airlines. This paper focus on consumer preference values for departure schedules in domestic flights. Considering some attributes affecting on the choice for airlines, we apply a conjoint analysis model to get the preference value of each attribute. With the part-worth values, we can find the importance weight for each attribute and make a choice simulation with some scenarios to evaluate the preference value for departure schedules. From the simulation results, we can find the best mix of departure time and fare for each flight. Through empirical survey the preference between time and fare were evaluated in relation to Korean customers and find the various implications for airlines industry.
