This paper refers a tale 〈Tiger’s Eyebrows〉 in order to promote deeper understanding of a movie 〈Hancock〉. Through this thesis, it is disclosed that the relationship among Hancock, Mary and Ray in the movie can be corresponded to the relationship of a poor man, his wife and a pottery dealer in the tale.
First of all, in the movie 〈Hancock〉, a part of the movie that Hancock had been treated as an annoyance with other’s criticism until before he met Ray is equivalent to the part of the tale that the man had failed and discouraged to everything he had tried before he met the tiger.
In 〈Hancock〉, the relationship between Hancock and Mary eventually faces different situation than before by Hancock’s decision, and this has a connection to the part of 〈Tiger’s Eyebrows〉 that the man let out his wife together with the pottery dealer. Hancock and the man in the tale both expect that his happiness will be attained by breaking up with their wife and that would present happiness to his partner too, and that point of the view is proved as right.
Although 〈Hancock〉 has not narrated yet, but could get on the story of that Mary achieves success with Ray, like in 〈Tiger’s Eyebrows〉 which states that the wife gets success with the pottery dealer. 〈Hancock〉 omitted this part of the story. In the future, when a story like 〈Hancock〉 is written in the same narration to 〈Tiger‘s Eyebrows〉, the author should keep this part of the narration in mind.
