1940년대 문학사는 1945년 해방을 기점으로 단절적으로 인식되어 왔다. 이 연구는 1940년대 전반기와 후반기의 문학이 국가 구상의 관점에서 연속성을 지니고 있다는 가설 하에 우선 김사량의 「노마만리」와 김학철의 「항전별곡」에 나타난 공간과 ‘공동체’ 표상의 양상을 분석하였다. 이 작품들에는 한반도 내부에서 발현될 수 없었던 탈식민적 주체의 국가에 대한 열망이 경험적 사실의 기록으로 표현되어 있다. 이들 작품의 배경이 되는 ‘연안’은 1940년대 전반기 항일의 상징적 장소였고 일제가 아닌 ‘다른 국가’를 상상했던 장소라는 점에서 특수한 시공간이 아니라 연속성의 시공간으로 이해되어야 한다고 본다. 또 그곳에서 국제주의적 연대를 지향하며 생활공동체를 형성했던 ‘열린 공동체’의 경험이 작품의 중심을 이룬다.
이러한 작품들에 나타난 공간과 공동체 표상은 1920년대의 계급주의문학 계열이 추구했던 사회주의적 이념 공동체의 상이나 민족주의 문학 그룹이 상상했던 전통적 공동체의 상에 제한되어 있지 않으면서, 길 위에서 수행적으로 구성되는 구체적 체험의 기록을 담고 있다는 점에서 큰 의미가 있다.To imagine a state in Joseon under colonial situation, through it is difficult to escape from the Greater East-Asia Co-prosperity Sphere which the imperial Japan planned at that time, provided an opportunity to get to realize concrete elements included in concept of a state, that is, to think of an idea of political clusters, military organizations and sovereign territory by paradoxically having the people realize the territory and boundary named the Korean Peninsula. Accordingly, the imagination of the de-colonial subject can escape from geographical boundary named the Korean Peninsula, experiencing the devising of various states. This paper, to examine aspects of such planning of a state, first of all noted Kim Ssryang‘s 「Nomamanni」and Kim Hakcheol's 「Hanjeonbyeolgok」. Because these works include a space where the desire of de-colonial subjects that imagine sovereign territory escaping from a space without sovereignty appeared and performative community reappearance as a process aiming for a state.
The writer Kim Saryang who realized 'difference' as Joseon people in Tokyo escaped to coast immediately before the Liberation of Korea, and joined Joseon volunteer army. And Kim Hakcheol, who moved from Hamheung to Seoul and again to Peking for independence movement fought in Taehyangsan(mountain) as the last squad commander of Joseom volunteer army, and their experiences reappeared together with spatial movement. The reason that their experiences were written in pieces of work and have been the subject of study up to now was because that they are not limited to individual and special experiences but because that they are linked to the desire to escape from colonization and to plan a national state at the end of Japanese occupation. Epics and actual materials which reappeared such aspects were deleted and forgotten in the process of founding a state after the Korean Liberation, which is expressed as contraction of space epics of liberation space. This paper, considering that the space and community presentment indicated on these pieces of work can become space and time capable of explaining continuity of literature in 1940's, looked into aspects of reappearing dynamic and performative community which is ideology community but not fixed and open.
