This article examines the relationships between obesity, body image satisfaction (BIS), and social physique anxiety (SPA) of middle-aged women in sports for all. Levels of obesity can influence middle-aged women's body image satisfaction and social physique anxiety and perhaps more broadly through their participation in sports for all. Therefore, understanding the impact of specific perceptions within the context of body image satisfaction and social physique anxiety needs to be explored. This article highlights that the BIS and SPA were influenced by age and type and duration of participation among middle-aged women in sports for all. Obesity levels had a significant correlation both BIS (obesity troubles, bulimia (vomiting) experience, exposure troubles, body image dissatisfaction) and SPA variables (negative physique evaluation and physique expression dissatisfaction), while obesity levels had a significant negative correlation with physique expression satisfaction variable. In addition, levels of obesity predicted BIS and SPA. Body image satisfaction positively related to negative physique evaluation, while obesity troubles negatively related to physique expression satisfaction. Bulimia (vomiting) experience and body image dissatisfaction positively related to physique expression satisfaction. Future studies need to consider a combination of both quantitative and qualitative methods based on socio-cultural perspectives.
