This study were to evaluate the economic value of the two small size local festivals in Busan, which were designated by the government as the fruitless festival. The economic value included both the market value and non-market value; however, only the non-market value was estimated in the study, since the local festival is considered a public good.
For this study, DB-DC CVM was adopted to evaluate the economic value of the festivals.
In conclusion, some variables (such as the visiting experience, the intention of re-visit, the number of children, the studying year, residence site) had an influence on the total amount of willingness-to-pay. As a result, it was estimated that the WTPs per visitor were 2,350 and 2,125 won; the total amount of non-market values were 154,395,000 and2,159,000 won.
