The purpose of this study is to segment Chinese investors who have an intention to organize hotel catering at luxury hotel in Jeju. Segmentation bases are selection attributes of catering and catering types by purpose. Cluster analysis on the selection attribute factors classified respondents into four different respondent groups: F&B oriented, accessibility oriented, hotel image and service oriented. Three groups (family catering, corporate meeting, convention) based on catering purpose were compared on the selection attribute factors. Finally, the four cluster groups were cross-tabulated with the three purpose groups to determine specific needs of each respondent cluster in deciding catering in luxury hotels. The result suggests practical implications for the development of catering products targeting Chinese investors in Jeju.
