In this study, we analyzed the effects of unplugged education focused on analysis of algorithm execution time on the improvement of computing thinking ability of the 3rd grade students of elementary school. Based on the results of the needs analysis of 70 elementary school teachers and 120 elementary school students, we developed the unplugged education program according to the procedure of ADDIE model. In the developed educational program, 24 elementary school students were trained for 6 days and 36 hours in total. During the same time, another 24 students were educated in board games. Thereafter, the two groups were subjected to pre- and post-comparison tests. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the unplugged education focused on the analysis of the execution time of the algorithm is effective in improving the thinking ability of the 3rd grade students in elementary school.
