The purpose of this study is to investigate how ad appeals used in campaigns lead to users' reaction and evaluation according to type. First, Aristotle's theories of rhetoric, which is based on appeal, are summarized and the concept of advertising appeal is theoretically established. In the study on ad appeal, we have determined the range of the reason appeal and the humor appeal and the fear appeal belonging to the emotional appeal rather than the heterosex appeal and the emotional appeal, In depth interviews were attended by eight 20-30 design graduate students under specific conditions based on Jacob Nielsen's usability study. The experiment was conducted by asking the participants to watch three experimental advertisements produced by the animation technique. The results of the experiment are summarized as follows. 1) It is confirmed that the user 's usual lifestyle is significantly different from the attitude or reaction to accept the advertisement. Four types of persona were analyzed and it was confirmed that subjects in the same group had similar responses. 2) The appeal of the advertisement was not able to present the inevitable aspect of dichotomizing 'one appeal to one advertisement'. The reason for this is as follows. Experimental advertisements were presented to the subjects and the concepts of the three appeals were summarized and presented as fingerprints. The fingerprints were used to select which appeals were used, because the percent correct was only one experimental advertisement. This result suggests that the unilateral appeal of supplier designing or the applicability of specific appeals may have uneven results on the efficiency of advertising. The results of this study will be the cornerstone of further in - depth research to be applied to an unspecified number of masses
