This article categorized (actual) populism into three types (paleo-populism, neo-populism, post-populism) and analyzed the Southkorean populist with a new minimal definition of populism as “the idea that sees society as a confrontation between two opposing camps, the people and the elite, and that the politics should reflect people’s opinions as directly as possible”. As a result of the analysis, the actual populists in Southkorea reached 31.8% (the populists including potential populists, 41.2%), of which the post-populists was the largest with 80.4% (61.9% of the populists). The Southkorean populists are centered on peoples in their 40s and 50s, workers and the middle and lower-middle classes. And the populists are the largest party of non-regular workers and the lower class by subjective class identification. In addition, their support for the governing Democratic Party of Korea is overwhelmingly high, and their support for the Justice Party which is a progressive party is relatively high. They show high interest in the expansion of social welfare and the suppression of inflation, but have post-materialist thinking. This is related to the fact that, above all, the post-populists are the most of them, because the post-populists are average populists in socio-economic character and political-social consciousness and attitude. In Southkorea, if the limits of elite representative politics persist or emerge as the most serious problem, post-populism become the main political trend.
