Households financialization has its own inner dynamic and is progressed with the appearance of new social actor, household as a financial actor.
Despite that, the analysis of Korean household financialization has been focused on the quantitative index and most of the studies about household financialization has paid less attention on the role of households. From that point, this research would like to analyze the qualitative character of household financialization, the emergence of financialized actor by focusing on the investment strategy, debt attitude and the usage of debt. In korea society, individual access on finance market is still stratified and consumption of finance capital has been concentrated on the transaction of real-estimate market. Considering the characteristic of Korea society this study explores the impact of home ownership on the current stratified household financialization. It turned out that the entire stratification within household financialization is maintained even after considering the house ownership.
However at the same time housing has independent asset effect to diverge the household financialization within status level and it worked heterogeneously between different status. Households in high class perceive debt as finance resource for investment and shows active and aggressive investment strategy. In contrast middle-low class households consider safety at first and are defensive in using debt. Low-middle class tends to evaluate their household finance more safe and stable after home purchase but in reality they are getting more dependent on debt and economically dangerous from default risk.
