In this study, the factors influencing the intention to drop out of the Air Force Academy’s first year cadets were explored. The survey was conducted by transforming the questionnaire of the Korean Education Longitudinal Study to reflect the specific context of the Academy. Total of 125 survey responses were received. Also, by utilizing SPSS 29.0, a verification of difference was conducted to see if there was a difference between groups(Drop out intention group and Hope to continue attending school) in the intention to drop out and the factors influencing the intention. A logistic regression analysis was conducted as well. As a result, the study first showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the background variable ‘birth year, admission decision time', and ‘education service satisfaction, career satisfaction, and life satisfaction' was significant in the university experience variable. The ‘relational variable' indicating the degree of alienation was also statistically significant. Second, the logistic regression analysis showed that ‘career satisfaction, life satisfaction, and alienation of relationship' had the greatest influence on the intention to drop out. While ‘career satisfaction, life satisfaction' decreased the intention to drop out, ‘relational alienation' increased the intention. With reference to these research results, structural solutions to reduce the intention to drop out of military academies should be supported.
