This thesis reveals the detailed contents and meaning contained in 『Gaebyeok(開闢)』, which was reprinted in the Post-Liberation Period, by analyzing the editorials related to Cheondogyo democracy. The ideology of democracy condensed the Korean people's longing for a self-reliant and independent nation after liberation. Cheondogyo announced their independent theory of democracy upon liberation, and defined it as "Joseon's New Democracy." It guided the ideological orientation of "people''s sovereignty, "left-right cooperation," and "unification of the South and the North" and concrete plans for its realization. In this respect, it can be said that analyzing the discourse of 『Gaebyeok(開闢)』 provides an important path to examine the contents of the theory of building an independent democratic state, which was discussed in various ways during the liberation period. Accordingly, this study analyzes the democracy-related editorials in 『Gaebyeok(開闢)』 to realize the meaning of democracy as "complete independence," "complete liberation," the realization of "Joseon's New Democracy" through the request for left-right cooperation and awareness of the class consciousness, and the connection between unification and democracy. Finally, this study confirms the direction of democracy in liberated Joseon, which was desired by the people of the Korean Peninsula at the time, and through this, suggests a new plan for democracy that is needed for "'now, here, us'."
