This study aims to explore the meaning of safety education as experienced by first-time infant teachers. To achieve this, qualitative research methods were employed to analyze in-depth interviews with six first-time teachers, each with one full year of experience. The first finding of the study was summarized as "start with acceptance." Despite a lack of comprehensive safety education for infant classes during their pre-teacher training, first-time teachers implemented a safety education program with a team teacher, They accepted and carried out safety education without much difficulty, albeit passively. The second finding was "reflective thinking triggered by experience." The teachers began to appreciate the purpose and necessity of safety education as they accumulated various safety-related experiences in the field, and they started to think reflectively about the safety education that they provided. The third finding was "the value of safety education in daily life." The teachers witnessed the positive impact of safety education in the behaviors of infants, and they realized the importance of integrating safety education into the daily lives of infants, supplementing mandatory safety education courses. The findings of this study indicate that, in order to support first-time infant teachers effectively, it is essential to develop a practical plan that considers various factors influencing teachers in terms of safety education. These factors encompass pre-service and in-service teacher training, collaboration with team-teaching teachers, daycare center systems and organizational culture, and national policies and laws.
