In beauty industry, a makeup sector has dramatically grown based on its uniqueness and diversity. In fact, people have recognized makeup as a means of expressing their personality in the modern times. Specifically, the colors, expressions, materials and structure of the traditional folk painting of Korea and the characteristics of kitsch were examined through a theoretical review. With the convergence of Korean traditional images and kitsch elements, art makeup was created. In terms of a way of expression, pictorial and object techniques were applied. This study has confirmed a possibility of creative expressions through differentiated modern art makeup based on diverse motives.
