Seedling trays in raising seedling facilities have be carried by human, which needs so much labor, This study was conducted to develop and evaluate transfer system for plug seedling bed. The briefs of test results are as follows.
Plug seedling bed transfer system is composed of travelling parts, lift winch and sensor parts for detecting bed position. Travelling parts was fabricated 0.75kW electric motor, steel wheel of 28cm as outer diameter and travelling speed of 0.11 ~ 0.22m/s. Winding wire type lift winch was lifted up bed flame by winding wire rope linked pick up hanger on bed flame by 0.4kW electric motor.
Controller of seedling bed transfer system consists of PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) and photo sensor control tracking the seedling bed identification number. If photo sensor found seedling bed while travelling transfer system, controller was programmed to come back original position after detecting center of seedling bed by reducing travelling speed and then lifting up or putting down it.
Working performance of seedling bed transfer system showed that it takes 2.6 hours which was more less then 9.2 hours by human, and working costs of that was more economical as 43,683won less then 46,129won by human in transferring 20 sets of seedling bed mounted on 51 pieces of seedling tray.
