The purpose of this study was to understand the laughter structure and meaning of Korean TV comedy show. The author was keep on trying to figure out "How does TV comedy program construct?", "How does it work?", and also "How does it mean?". The author analyzed the followings. First, "What is the definition of laughter?" Second, “The history of comedy", "The forms of comedy genre", and "The inductive motive of comedy". Finally third, "The meaning of laughter when you watch comedy program", "The issue of gender and class of body", and 'The meaning of generation who watch the comedy show".
As results of this study was for that the author examined the laughter structure of comedy show. So, for this all of themes, the author selected the long-run TV comedy show 「Gag Concert 」 which was now on air KBS2. It had popularity rating more that 25% every week. But this whole program had got a lot of small corners. And then the author had to pick only one corner. That was the 「Bong-Soong-Ah School」 which meaned the main corner of this Gag Concert.
The author did choose 5 times of last July, August, and September. The reason of that was a certain pattern on it. So that could make audience laughter and had audience memorized the unique messages.
It had got to real popularity and a sort of frame. The author used the frame of semiology for all issues. And the author found out the laughter structure and meaning in the TV comedy show.
In order to attain the purpose of this study, the author constructed research questions as follows;
· Research Question 1 : What is the narrative of 「Bong-Soong-Ah School」 in Gag Concert? And what is the laughter structure on it?
· Research Question 2 : How the laughter structure work and show?
And what does it mean by that?
· Research Question 3 : What is the meaning of laughter structure that hides? And what about their ideology?
· Research Question 3-1 What is the ideology that connected the gender issue?
· Research Question 3-2 What is the ideology that connected the body issue?
· Research Question 3-3 What is the ideology that connected the class issue?
· Research Question 3-4 : What is the ideology that connected the generation issue?
For answering each of these research questions. Firstly, in order to answer the first research question. There is no affirmation. It is called "The Closed- Structure" and 'The negative laughter structure".
Secondly, in order to answer the second research question. The laughter of TV comedy could be showed by "How to compare between the existing common senses and the existing common ideas."
Thirdly, in order to answer the third research question. There would be easily strengthen the certain ideology and common idea through that negative massages. It can increase gradually for repetition.
Fourthly, in order to answer the third sub research question. It was showed us to fix the forms of gender rolls.
Fifthly, in order to answer the third sub research question. It was showed us to mean the body could be commerce.
Sixthly, in order to answer the third sub research question. It was showed us to accept the political power and achievement ideology so naturally.
Seventhly, in order to answer the third sub research question. It was showed us to construct and agree the elderly culture and mind.
In conclusion, there was certain message on TV Comedy that was strengthened the dominant idea and common ideology. It could work on Korean Society so voluntary and naturally. So, this study would be show the TV comedy program which was for making people laughter. The author figured out that message of TV comedy show is not positive. And it would be strengthen common sense. That kind of thoughts were memorized in society which had their own common ideology and common idea. Finally, this concepts that was not normal would leave their society. So, the meaning of laughter was not positive paradigm. This was the result of the study.
