The purpose of this study is to examine esthetic principle and literary significance of feminism poetry by studying korean modern feminism poems which were turned up in earnest by Goh Jung-Hee, Choi Seung-Ja and Kim Hye-Soon from the latter half of 1970's to the earlier half of 1980's. their poems has been turning point in korean poetic history.
Before then, most of poetesses' texts had displayed passive attitude and confrontation to patriarchy. while Goh Jung-Hee, Choi Seung-Ja and Kim Hye-Soon accused oppression of logosphallocentricism and expressed self-consciousness in their poems based on feminine identity. they tried to recover position of female who has been driven out from existing society. they had widened poetic domain by using female word and 'writing of body'. so this thesis analyzes their poems paying attention to their poetic revolutionary properties in the aspect of methodology of feminism poetics.
Goh Jung-Hee construct images of consideration about the past and present, criticism against patriarchy, wish of women's liberation and people's liberation in the form of poetry. at the beginning, based on christianism, she wrote about the public who had been persecuted from society but gradually her radical feminism moved focus on the women's liberation. especially she disclosed tragic actualities of mothers and aimed their liberation. her poems not only used sharp satire and parody to make fool of authoritative objects but used oral means of long poem which was borrowed from Sittgim-gut to deliver the restriction of women's life.
Choi Seung-Ja showed oppressive structure of reality in the shape of personal experience. her early works became strained with death-consciousness and denial at the society. at that time, her poetic words were more cynical than other's and had many slangs, swearwords and so on. however, recently, based on ecofeminism she indicate philosophical view about the relationship between universe and people, between oneself and the other.
Kim Hye-Soon has written poems in the way of 'writing of body' throughout her thirty year's poetess' life. she suggested prospect of women's liberation breaking up the double wall, male-centric social structure and rational writing form. perceiving herself as Baridegi, she showed diaspric imagination that exceed limit of death. the post-modern feminism, appearing in her poems, break up dichotomy between beauty and ugliness, life and death, body and mind, male and female.
Goh Jung-Hee, Choi Seung-Ja and Kim Hye-Soon share characteristic of ecriture feminine on the basis of feminism thinking system. feminism poetry which is represented by them doesn't support the world of conflict and antagonism. korean feminism poetry not only surpasses dichotomy between male and female but also achieves poetic revolution that makes it possible to meet the other. furthermore korean feminism poetry opens a new prospect of aesthetic world. the direction of feminist poetics resides in going beyond separation of class and gender to achieve the integration. feministic poetry accomplishes recovery of humanity by ecriture feminine and heightening imagination.
