Non-verbal communication refers to the various communication methods excluding language and letters, which are the main communication methods of our society. Visual messages using various intermediary measures of non-verbal communication differ in interpretation and understanding according to expression, but plays the role of infusing life and value into message and tearing down the boundaries between rationality and emotion.
Visual messages effectively deliver messages in addition to language or letter expressions and execute the additional role of facilitating easy perception of meaning. However, there are cases where visual messages are difficultly or differently interpreted from content delivered through language or letters, In order to solve such problems, it is stated that although the connection between language, letters and visual message, which expresses its meaning, is important, it is also significant to find the inherent meaning included in visual message in order to achieve interpretation and expression.
Physical language, a direct medium measure between people, delivers emotion to the rational expression of language. Visual messages through such various physical expressions are portrayed appropriate for the delivery purpose of each message. Such visual messages do not require a different interpretation as language or letters, but rather easily achieves complex meaning and interpretation through physical expression.
