The main purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of international students' cultural adaptation stress on college-life adaptation. The subjects of the research are 118 college international students (undergraduates, graduates and language learning students) from 5 colleges in Busan area. Questionnaire survey was used in this research. SPSS program was used for data analyze. The hypothesis of this research was verified with descriptive analysis, ANOVA, T-test and multiple regression analysis. Scheffe test was applied for post- hoc individual comparison.
The result of the study is as follows.
The result of this research indicated that the international student undergoing the difficulties form language difference, discrimination, Personal and emotional stress due to cultural adaptation on college-life adaptation. so It is necessary to develop International student department and facility. Administrative and academic support is a great help on college-life adaptation and Will need to provide a part-time job, considering the position of foreigners Housing Services.
Second, language improvement program should be made variety and periodically. University should re-check the existing Korean curriculum and foreign admission criteria should be clearly and using various media (cyber lectures, field trips. etc.) will strive to improve the ability of foreign students Korean.
Third, foreign customized staffing and mentor assignment is required. Foreign students want to get equivalent services such as domestic students However, the linguistic and cultural differences. it seems difficult to even provide basic services. Thus, the government should to meet the needs of foreign students by custom foreign education and College try to supply counseling and customized foreign mentoring service to help the students.
In addition, the foreign custom-workers and mentors try to research for foreign students and do discrimination campaigns, debates and so on.
