The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship among the satisfaction about the using the sports facilities, the physical health, and the mental health of elderly.
Data for this study were collected from 304 elderlies who are using the public and private sports facility for their health or leisure. The statistical Package to social Sciences(SPSS) 21.0 for the personal computer were used to analyze the collected data. Pearson correlation was used to identify the relationship among the using satisfaction about the sports facility, mental health and physical health of elderly.
Multiple regression was used to evaluate the effect of the using satisfaction about the sports facility on the mental health of elderly and the using satisfaction about the sports facility and the mental health on the physical health of elderly.
Path analysis was used to evaluate the causal relation among the using satisfaction about the sports facility, mental health and physical health of elderly.
The major findings of this study were as follows:
First, the using satisfaction about the sports facility effects positively on the mental health of elderly. That is, the satisfaction about a customer management, accessibility and facility in using satisfaction about the sports facility positive effect on memory and perception. And the satisfaction about a customer management, accessibility and the coaching method effect positively on the positive emotion.
Second, the using satisfaction about the sports facility and the mental health of elderly effect positively on the physical health of elderly. That is, memory and perception, negative emotion and positive emotion in mental health effect on the physical health of elderly. And the satisfaction about program in the using satisfaction about the sports facility, the memory and perception in the mental health effect positively on the sensation and ability of sanitary activity in the physical health. The positive emotion and negative emotion in the mental health effect on the digestion and ability of excretion control in physical health. The memory and perception in the mental health, the coaching method in the using satisfaction about the sports facility effect positively on the ability of daily life of elderly.
Third, there was a causal relation among the satisfaction about using the sports facility, the mental health and the physical health of elderly. That is, the memory and perception, positive emotion, negative emotion in the mental health effect on the physical health directly. And the satisfaction about a customer management, accessibility, facility, coaching method in the using satisfaction about the sports facility effect positively on the physical health indirectly.
