 Since the era of reproduction art has come to an end with the invention of photography, modern art has produced various expressions. However, the number of works lacking visual elements such as composition, color, and meaning of interaction increased. And there was a difficulty in accepting it as a artistry. As a result, the gap between contrivance of modern art and communication with the public has been formed. To fill this part requires a process of constantly 'communicating' with the public.

Today, it may be a series of life in which people lose their identities or wander in various kinds of visual media and information. However, the relationship between art works and the public should be more direct and visually familiar, and the necessity of this is the starting point of this study. I would like to select 'Cartoon Illustration' as a formal theme for embodying this study. And the point of this study is to visualize 'common emotions' based on personal relationships and experiences.

The research method of this study is as follows.

First, it presents the ways and problems of communication in the relationship between contemporary art and the public, and looks at the public 's gaze that can be found in the obscure. And I want to explore visual elements that want to compensate for the difficulty as a result.

Second, I will examine the concepts and characteristics of cartoons, and analyze and analyze the examples of popularity and symbolic images.

Third, we will form a cartoon image to help explain the works through the process of symbolic painting, and apply it to ceramic molding.

The scope of the research focuses on the visual effects of popular arts, and the communication part is limited to the cartography related to semiotics. In the form of formative production, it is expressed in the form of 'organic' coming from the line of human body and 'hexahedron' reminding the canvas form which draws cartoon.

As a result, this study began with the intention of reducing the interval of communication in the background or description of the work, One way of doing this is to create a hybrid image by borrowing and mixing images from 'Cartoon Illustrator'.
