 The disabilities ministry is an essential mission of church to the evangelization for the disabilities who are suffering and excluded from the social and systematic discrimination. However, in the church, it is not easy to see that the disabilities attend mass or participate in parish activity. The reason to writing this thesis was from a question "Why the disabilities can't be seen in the church?", though the church's mission is the evangelization for everyone.

The disabilities are estranged even in the church which is a community of communion, and the disabilities ministry is centered to support social welfare facilities in today. In these realistic conditions, the purpose of this thesis is a presenting direction of the disabilities ministry for the future through an examination of a actual disabilities ministry focused on the archdiocese of Daegu. The subject of this study is restricted for the developmental disability. Because it is difficult that examining every type of disability, and now each diocese in Korea is more concerned about the developmental disabilities. Also, a sunday school for the developmental disabilities in the Archdiocese of Daegu was founded in 2016. Therefore, interest and support are needed for the ministry for domiciliary disabilities.

The overall structure of the study takes the four chapters. The first chapter is concerned with a definition of the developmental disability by looking at definitions, causes, characteristics and educational approaches focused on intellectual disorder and autistic disorder which are representative types among subcategories of developmental disorder.

The second chapter is concerned with theological grounds for theoretical foundation of the developmental disabilities ministry. The appropriateness of ministry for the developmental disabilities is emerged from the teaching in the bible and the teaching of the catholic church (Personality, Dignity of human, Human rights, Preferential choice for the poor, etc.) about the general disability that is the superordinate concept than the developmental disability.

The third chapter is concerned with the history of the social welfare of the Archdiocese of Daegu that has centered the social welfare facilities related the developmental disabilities ministry, the facilities status available for the developmental disabilities, and the possibility and limitation of the ministry focused facility support. Also, the possibility and limitation of the ministry for the domiciliary developmental disabilities are examined through researching into varied pastoral activities for the domiciliary developmental disabilities in the st. Thomas church in the Archdiocese of Daegu.

The last chapter draw up plans for a vitalization of the developmental disabilities ministry of the Archdiocese of Daegu, on a diocese level and a parish level.
