Among the numerous auxiliary materials for Korean language lectures, Korean drama is a popular medium that learners can easily access in their daily lives. can do. Korean language classes using Korean dramas can compensate for the shortcomings in terms of age compared to traditional textbooks used in the existing educational field. In addition, it is possible to increase the learning efficiency of learners by making the class atmosphere and fun, as well as increasing learners' interest in learning and creating good class effects. The dialogue between characters in Korean dramas reflects the daily life of various Koreans, and Korean classes using dramas can revitalize the class atmosphere and at the same time provide learners with a variety of Korean language environments to increase learning opportunities for listening, speaking, reading, and writing. have.
This thesis proposes an integrated teaching and learning method that can improve Korean reading, writing, listening and speaking skills by using the Korean TV drama 〈What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?〉 for intermediate level Korean learners whose native language is not Korean. aim to study In Chapter 1, Introduction, the purpose of this study is revealed and prior researches related to it are reviewed before researching the method of integrated Korean education using drama.
In Chapter 2, Theoretical Background, the basic theoretical background on the correlation between video media and language education was first reviewed through literature, and the characteristics of dramas and educational values of dramas were presented as language education materials.
In Chapter 3, we looked at the selection criteria for the selection of dramas used in the most important language education. In addition, the drama 〈What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?〉, which was selected in this study that met the selection criteria according to the presented drama selection criteria, was introduced. Therefore, the linguistic aspect of the drama 〈What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?〉; The content aspect and cultural aspect were analyzed based on three educational standards.
Based on the educational contents analyzed in Chapter 4, in order to utilize the drama in actual Korean education, the actual Korean education is presented by presenting educational methods and activities that can be used in classes based on the functions of each of the four language areas: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. In the drama 〈What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?〉, methods for teaching and learning were explored.
