Although in this society where the digital media dominates our daily

lives, the drama contents are still playing a leading role as a

communication media for public understanding. Whatever has changed

is that the contents range is becoming wider due to the variations on

the original epic work. This shows not only that drama contents reflect

the various public needs, but they also accept the complexity of ways of

expression in accordance with the introduction of diverse television

image contents including Satellite DMB, Terrestrial DMB, HDTV.

Drama reinterprets the folk tale

to keep in tune with the public, which has been

transmitted as several editions in the oriental region as well as in Great

Britain, France and German. Hence, the drama forms the drama

enthusiasts, receiving variable evaluations from its viewers. At the

same time it contributes in many ways to the diversification of contents,

since it showed the potential that the folk tale in particular, the

traditional fairy tale can become drama contents.

The purpose of this study is to contribute to extraction of the

narrative tendency in the social media’s storytelling, by analyzing the

features of drama contents based on the ideas that story

can be reinvented a drama for the adult population.

Drama , as described by its title, focuses on the stepsister and the stepmother rather than Cinderella, who is the main

character in the original version. Therefore the drama focuses on the

main character Eun-jo’s story while developing the process of

confrontation and reconciliation with the extra characters. Specifically it

focuses how the characters including the main character overcome their

psychological wounds and the communication obstacles. Considering this

as the base of drama features analysis, this study furthermore analyzes

the storytelling, characters, narrations, and healing/communicating

among characters in the version of drama, which is recreated from the

folk tale .

While the folk tale develops the Cinderella-centered

story, the drama version progresses focused on Cinderella’s stepsisters

and stepmother. The characters in Drama lack

of human communication yet, they may learn progressively how to

communicate as integrating into the situation of controversy. In other

words, the original is a story about the inequality between

the former wife’s daughter and the stepmother’s daughters, centered on

the stepmother, and the poor treatment toward the former wife’s one, as

a consequence Cinderella’s overcoming this sort of situation. When it

come to Drama , there is a process of healing

their own wounds themselves, understanding each other and

overcoming their obstacles. It means the key point of storytelling in

Drama is not about people’s achieving

upwardly mobile and successful life, but their learning communication,

realizing the existence of other people, and finally healing one’s own

wound progressively.
