본 연구의 목적은 학습공동체 참여 여부에 따라 대학생의 성취목표지향성이 학습전략과 학업적 정서조절에 미치는 영향을 탐색하는 것이다. 서울 소재 S대학의 학습공동체 프로그램에 참여한 학생 481명과 미참여 학생 163명을 대상으로 성취목표지향성, 학습전략, 학업적 정서조절 검사를 실시하였다. 이에 대한 연구결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 학습공동체 참여집단이 미참여집단보다 숙달목표지향성과 수행접근목표지향성을 더 추구하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학습공동체 참여집단에서는 숙달목표지향성과 수행접근목표지향성이 학습전략에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나, 학습공동체 미참여집단에서는 숙달목표지향성만이 학습전략을 설명하는 예측변인으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학습공동체 참여집단에서는 세 가지 성취목표지향성 모두 학업적 정서조절에 대한 영향력이 유의하였으나, 학습공동체 미참여집단에서는 숙달목표지향성만이 유의한 예측변인으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 학습공동체에 대한 교육적 시사점을 도출하고 의의를 찾고자 하였다.
