본 연구의 목적은 문화콘텐츠로서 ‘Feel the Rhythm of Korea·시즌1’의 특징을 이해하고 영상에 내재 되어 있는 한국문화 내용을 파악한 후 이를 교육하는 방안을 제안하는 데 있다. 세계적으로 신드롬을 일으키고 있는 영상 ‘Feel the Rhythm of Korea·시즌1’은 한국 홍보영상이며 판소리를 현대적으로 재해석한 문화콘텐츠이다.

본 연구에서는 ‘Feel the Rhythm of Korea·시즌1’을 ‘영상’과 ‘판소리’로 나누어 내용을 분석하고 분석 틀을 제시하여 학습자가 영상 속에 담긴 한국의 대표 문화 이미지를 체계적으로 이해할 수 있도록 하였다. 전통 판소리의 구성요소에 따라 밴드 [이날치]에 의해 현대적으로 재해석된 판소리를 분석하였다. 또한 유튜브 플랫폼에서 리뷰, 패러디되고 있는 밈 문화 현상을 판소리의 향유방식과 비교하여 판소리에 대한 학습자의 이해를 돕고자 하였다. 문화콘텐츠를 활용한 한국문화교육 모형을 구성한 후에는 이 모형에 따라 ‘Feel the Rhythm of Korea·시즌1’을 활용한 교육의 실제를 제시하였다.

본 연구에서 제시한 한국문화 수업을 통해 외국인 학습자들은 문화콘텐츠에 내재 된 한국문화를 체계적으로 분석할 수 있는 능력을 신장할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 학습들은 낯설고 접근하기 어려운 판소리를 쉽게 이해할 수 있을 것이며 온라인 플랫폼을 통해 문화콘텐츠를 접하고 소통하며 재창조하는 과정에서 타 문화를 배려하고 소통할 수 있는 능력을 갖출 수 있을 것이다.
