연구 목적: 교직과목으로서의 다문화교육 강좌를 개발하고 실행하고 평가하는 것이다. 이러한 과정을 통해서 예비교사의 다문화역량 제고의 가능성과 한계를 파악한다.

연구 방법: 연구방법으로 실행연구를 선택함으로써 단순한 정보 제공 및 보여주기식의 체험학습으로 진행되는 다문화교육에 대한 문제의식을 기반으로 교직과목으로서의 다문화교육 강좌를 실행 및 평가한다. 분석을 위해 사용된 자료는 교수자, 학생 그리고 대학 본부에서 수집하였으며 전문가 4인에게 분석과정과 결과를 검증하였다.

연구 내용: 개발된 강좌에 대한 평가 결과는 다음과 같이 세 가지로 주제화되었다. 첫째, 다문화에 대한 학문적인 접근, 둘째, 다문화감수성, 셋째, 다문화에 대한 인식의 변화이다.

결론 및 제언: 개발된 강좌는 현장실습과의 연계 부족이라는 한계에도 불구하고, 다문화 관련 지식 및 다문화감수성을 함양하고 다문화역량을 제고할 수 있는 교직과목의 가능성을 보여준다.

The purpose of this study is to develop, implement, and evaluate a multicultural education course as a course in teaching. Because the role of teachers is important for Korea to move in the direction of social integration, strengthening multicultural competency in teacher education is crucial. Through this process, this study identifies the possibilities of and limitations to enhancing the multicultural competency of preservice teachers. This study selects execution research as the research method to implement and evaluate a multicultural education course as a course in teaching, based on the awareness that multicultural education is being carried out as a simple provision of information or as an experiential class for show. The results of the evaluation of the developed course can be divided into three themes: academic approach to multiculturalism, multicultural sensitivity, and change in the perception of multiculturalism. According to the results of this study, the developed course shows that courses in teaching can cultivate knowledge related to multiculturalism and multicultural sensitivity, and enhance multicultural competency, despite the limitation that the developed course lacks connection to on-site practice.
