본 논문의 목적은 ‘생명의료윤리’를 ‘의공학적 시선’에서 살펴보고자 함이다. 의공학 기술은 환자가 의사를 진단하고 치료하는 과정에 필수적인 요소이며 의사와 환자 사이에는 보이지 않는 의공학자들의 역할과 의미가 더욱 중요시되고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 첫째, 의공학자들이 의료현장에 직간접적으로 영향을 미치고 있으므로 의공학인의 생명의료 윤리적 인식을 함양할 수 있는 윤리원칙을 모색할 필요성이 대두되었음을 주장한다. 둘째, ‘의공학적 생명의료윤리원칙’을 제언하기 위한 선행 연구로 기존의 의공학계 윤리강령을 분석한다. 셋째, 일반적인 윤리원칙의 한계와 의미를 논한다.
