우리 사회는 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 살아간다. 발달장애인에게는 인간의 발달과정에 있는 장애를 경험함으로서 사람들과의 커뮤니케이션 결핍에서 오는 어려움이 있다. 이들은 사회적 상호작용 및 인지력 저하에 따른 제한된 소통을 경험한다. 성인이 되는 발달장애인의 사회참여는 그에 따른 결과로서 가족들의 심리적 압박과 좌절로 이어지기도 한다. 그런데 발달장애인의 예배와 설교에 관한 상호교류가 비장애인과 비교하여 매우 특별한 것은 아니다. 다만 이들에게 독특한 점이 있다면 비장애인 공동체와 비교 할 때 발달장애인의 이해 수준이 그 나이나 성장과정에 비추어 낮고 느리다는 점이다. 때문에 신앙공동체에 이들의 이해와 참여를 독려하기 위한 다양한 방법이 교회의 목회적 과제에 긍정적일 수 있다. 이것은 비장애인의 유아나 아동에게 적용되는 소통 양식이 발달장애인의 성인에 이르기까지 적용 가능하다는 것을 의미한다. 이를 위하여 발달장애인의 눈높이를 맞추려는 의지는 발달장애인과 함께 하는 신앙공동체 환경에 전제되어야 하는 중요한 목회적인 내용이다.

본 연구는 발달장애인의 특성을 비롯하여 고려되어야 하는 목회환경과 발달장애인과 비장애인의 신앙적인 동질성을 관찰한다. 그리고 신앙적인 상호작용에 따른 신앙의 신비는 장애인이나 비장애인 모두에게 본질상 다르지 않다는 것을 살피면서, 본 연구를 통해 발달장애인을 바라보는 시선에 대한 오해를 점검하고, 발달장애인을 위한 다양한 목회적인 접근을 시도할 수 있는 고려와 발달장애인과 함께 하는 교회의 영적 상호소통에 관한 주제를 탐구한다.

In our society, disabled and non-disabled people live together. People with developmental disabilities have difficulties arising from a lack of communication with others as they experience disabilities in the human development process. They experience limited communication due to reduced social interaction and cognitive ability. The social participation of developmentally disabled people as adults can result in psychological pressure and frustration from their families. The interaction between people with developmental disabilities regarding Worship and Preaching is not very special compared to people without disabilities. However, what is unique about them is that compared to the non-disabled community, the level of understanding of people with developmental disabilities is low and slow in relation to their age and growth process. Therefore, various methods to encourage their understanding and participation in the faith community can be positive for the church's pastoral tasks. This means that the communication style that applies to non-disabled infants and children can also be applied to adults with developmental disabilities. To this end, the will to meet the perspectives of people with developmental disabilities is an important pastoral task that must be prerequisite for a faith community with people with developmental disabilities.

This study observes the characteristics of people with developmental disabilities, the pastoral environment that must be considered, and the religious identity of people with developmental disabilities and non-disabled people. And we examine that the mystery of faith through religious interaction is essentially no different for both disabled and non-disabled people. Through this study, we examine misunderstandings about the way people with developmental disabilities are viewed, consider various pastoral approaches for people with developmental disabilities, and explore topics related to the church's spiritual communication with people with developmental disabilities.
