이 논문은 한국사회에 적합한 전인적 돌봄환경 조성을 위해 다층적 질병서사 아카이브를 기획하고 이에 대한 필요성과 의의를 논의하기 위한 것이다. 이에 본고에서는 한국사회에서 돌봄이 갖는 의미를 밝히기 위해 돌봄에 대한 사회문화적 배경을 살피고, 국내외 질병서사 아카이브 사례 분석을 바탕으로 다층적 질병서사 아카이브가 갖는 의미와 가치를 살펴보았다. 질병서사의 주체를 폭넓은 관점에서 바라보고 이들의 이야기를 데이터베이스화하고자 하는 다층적 질병서사 아카이브는 질병을 중심으로 형성되어 있는 다양한 성원들이 몸소 경험하고 느낀 바를 서로 말하고 들으며 공감하고 연대할 수 있는 정서적 지지망의 의미를 갖는다. 나아가 다층적 질병서사 아카이브에 구축되어 있는 데이터베이스는 각 학문 영역의 연구 및 의료, 간호, 상담, 교육을 위한 자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 의료시스템의 문제, 관계적 갈등 양상 등을 포착할 수 있는 수많은 단서들을 제공함으로써 의료 및 돌봄정책을 마련하기 위한 중요한 근거자료가 될 수 있다. 다층적 질병서사 아카이브는 질병을 직간접적으로 경험한 다양한 구성원의 개별적인 이야기를 전체적이고 입체적인 관점에서 조망할 수 있도록 함으로써 전인적 돌봄환경 조성을 위해 새로운 관점을 제시하는 실천적 장이 될 것이다.

This paper is intended to plan a multi-layered illness narrative archive for the creation of a holistic care environment suitable for Korean society and to discuss its significance and necessity. Existing illness narrative archives typically include patient stories. However, illness not only affects individuals but also has a significant impact on human relationships. The experience of illness is not solely the individual patient’s experience but a shared experience with others who interact with the patient. In addition, because the inherent nature of care is interdependent, to discuss a holistic care environment, attention is needed not only on the patient themselves but also on the relationships with the patient's surrounding individuals. Therefore, in this paper, we aim to examine the subject of illness narratives from various perspectives. Interviews with illness narratives from various perspectives serve as a channel for sharing and understanding each other’s stories and viewpoints about the illness, and sharing these interviews through a website contributes to social public interest. Additionally, the illness narrative database can be utilized as research and educational material in the fields of medicine, nursing, counseling, and education. Also it can also serve as a basis for formulating medical and care policies. The multi-layered illness narrative archive is expected to be helpful in creating a holistic care environment.
