The “Goddess Writing” genre depicts romantic encounters between goddesses and mortal men, originating from the archetype of mountain goddesses and incorporating sub-themes such as plant myths. Key motifs include chance nocturnal encounters and bold self-offers of intimacy by goddesses to mortal rulers. Initially associated with religious rituals and sacrifices, the theme of “rulers encountering goddesses” gradually evolved with shifts in literary genres and cultural psychology, transforming into a more diverse theme of “divine-mortal encounters,” with 八朝窮怪錄’s “蕭總” marking a pivotal transitional point.

This essay traces the origins of the goddess archetype, analyzing influences of mythology, religion, and literary tropes. It explores key turning points and the evolution of core elements of “Goddess Writing.” Xi Zaochi of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Li Daoyuan of the Later Wei Dynasty, and Yu Zhigu of the Tang Dynasty all have elements of inherited content in their works, until the birth of the zhiguai novel “Records of the Eight Dynasties” (八朝窮怪錄.蕭總). The various elements in “Goddess Writing” eventually gave rise to thematic creations with different emphases, exemplified by the theme of “divine-mortal encounters.” Hence, “Goddess Writing” can be seen as a mythological theme that expresses the romance between goddesses and mortal men, connecting the ancestors who created the mythological theme with descendants who innovated mythological writing.

神女書寫的主題人物,原型來自巫山山神,又包含了植物神話與山間氣候變化(雲霧)兩項小母題。原本與上古宗教祭祀文化有關的單一主題,隨著文體形式與文化心理的嬗變,「君王事神女」的主題,漸轉向內涵更多元化的「人神遇合」主題──將「夢遇」 * 張譽允:現任香港珠海學院助理教授,主要研究領域:古典文學。中韓硏究學刊 第16輯 20的不合理,解讀為古代女性「自薦枕席」行為的合理;藉由夢的非真實,掩蓋神女「自薦枕席」的反常,當中以≪八朝窮怪錄.蕭總≫為轉捩點。本文通過對高唐神女原型的溯源,掌握各篇中神女書寫的元素,分析作品受神話原型影響的具體表現;並據作品對原始宗教文化的涵攝,和文學主題的運用,探求借用神女書寫的需求與文人心態的遇合關係。

其中關鍵的數個轉捩點,包括≪山海經≫的䔄草神話、≪九歌≫的山鬼形象,最遲延至宋玉<高唐賦>,高唐神女即作為巫山神女的雛型,再在<神女賦>中成形,此後,凡涉及神女與人間君王「雲雨」的關鍵,幾乎都涵攝了「神女主題」的兩大核心元素:「夢遇」與「自薦枕席」,實則兼具了香草巫術與祭祀文化之神話內涵。東晉習鑿齒、後魏酈道元、唐代余知古,諸篇皆有內容因襲的成分,直至志怪小說≪八朝窮怪錄.蕭總≫的誕生。神女書寫當中的種種要素,終於派生成各有不同側重點的主題式創作,人神遇合主題可作一作表。可見,神女書寫是表現「神女與凡男」情愛的神話類型主題,它連接了創造神話主題的祖先,與創新神話書寫的後代。
