초록보기

We live in an era when technology leads almost every aspect of life, shifting the conventional ways to access products and services to technology–based ways such as e–commerce, ride–hailing, edutech and healthtech. This study case is aimed to unveil how Halodoc, a renowned Indonesian healthtech company can strive and circulate profit while maintaining the responsibility of holding the basic pillar of a nation (i.e., health). The key factors on determining Halodoc’s success are the initial dedication to empower Indonesia’s Bottom of Pyramid (BOP ) and contribution to the refinement of the flawed health system, ability to innovate, fast will to adapt to the Asian market situation and consumers’ behavioral pattern, and strategic crisis management during the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Halodoc’s approach to market is against the common understanding that a company’s growing profit is at cross purposes with its social responsibility. However, through the humble–socically centered beginning, Halodoc were able to grab potential markets and managed to be listed inside the top 100 healthtech companies in the world along with Johnson&Johnson, 3M, and Illumina representing as an Asian company. This case study is a part of our concern on arousing more interests on healthtech companies’ potential with a hope of more healthy innovations and competitions inside the healthtech circuit for a better health infrastructure outcome for Asian people, including the Indonesians
