본 연구는 청소년의 또래괴롭힘 피해 경험과 자아가치의 관계에서 성격적 자기비난과 내재화 문제의 이중매개효과를 검증하고 한국과 미국 간 차이를 분석하고자 하였다. 이에 한국 3개 도시의 4개 중학교와 미국 Alabama 주 3개 중학교에서 동일한 문항으로 수집된 총 754명(한국 462명; 만 12∼15세)의 자료를 사용하여 경로분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 한국과 미국 모두 성격적 자기비난과 내재화 문제의 이중매개효과가 유의하였으며, 두 국가 간 차이는 없었다. 본 연구결과는 또래괴롭힘 피해 경험이 자아가치에 미치는 부정적인 영향 완화를 위한 방안 마련에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
